180° Elbow

A pipe fitting widely utilized as a connection point between two pipe lengths to alter the flow direction within the pipe, typically at a 180-degree angle, is known as an elbow. Elbows are sometimes referred to as bends and are available in various materials, including nickel alloys, stainless steel, alloy steel, carbon steel, duplex, super duplex, and more. A long-radius 180-degree return bend facilitates a complete reversal of flow, while a 180-degree elbow allows for a reversal in pipe direction, often resulting in reduced pressure. These 180-degree elbows exhibit precise characteristics. The spacing from the elbow’s end to the centerline is 3 times the Nominal Pipe Size (NPS). A short-radius 180-degree return bend permits a full change in flow direction but with a significantly sharper turn. The gap from the elbow’s end to the centerline is 1 times the NPS.
