Orifice flanges are essential for measuring fluid flow in pipelines using flow nozzles. They feature pressure tappings, eliminating the need for separate wall tapings. Orifice flanges are placed in a straight pipe section to minimize turbulence near the plate. Typically, they require ten pipe diameters upstream and five downstream for optimal performance.
