Condensate pots are vital in steam applications, accumulating condensed water to maintain fluid volume and accuracy in differential pressure flow measurement. Typically made from stainless steel for corrosion resistance, they require heat tracing and insulation on impulse lines. Positioned at the same height, they ensure a constant condensate level, preserving accuracy and minimizing gauge line errors. Condensate pots function by isolating steam vapor between process tapping and the pot, while water is present between the pot and the differential pressure transmitter, preventing measurement errors from liquid-vapor mix. The material’s composition, including molybdenum, tungsten, carbon, and silicon, enhances its strength and corrosion resistance. Equal lengths of high-pressure and low-pressure impulse lines are essential to eliminate pressure head errors. Each impulse line necessitates one condensate pot.
